Project: Establishment of the Palestinian Institute of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law

An-Najah National University invites qualified and motivated candidates to join the team working on the project “Establishment of the Palestinian Institute of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law.” The University seeks to attract committed professionals to support its mission in education, research, and community engagement.

 Contract Type

Fixed-term, part-time (50% workload), till the end of the project.

 Work location: 

The PCU office for the Palestinian institute for IHL and HR at the faculty of law and political science, with occasional field work in any other location based on the assignment of the project director

Main Duties and Responsibilities

· Support the Project Coordinator in the planning, organization, and implementation of project activities, workshops, trainings, and public events.

· Contribute to the coordination and management of communication related to project activities with internal and external stakeholders.

· Document project activities through written reports, summaries, and informational materials.

· Prepare narrative and activity reports in coordination with the Project Coordinator.

· Assist in drafting press releases, announcements, and communication materials related to the project.

· Maintain organized records and documentation of project activities and outputs.

· Support visibility and dissemination efforts in line with donor and university requirements.

· Participate in meetings, workshops, and events related to the project, as required.

 Occasional Duties

· Assist in preparing additional documentation requested by the donor or university administration.

· Support monitoring and reporting processes, including audit-related documentation when needed.

· Contribute to organizing and facilitating project events and public engagements.

· Undertake other tasks assigned by the Project Coordinator or Project Director to support project objectives.

 Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Law (required). Higher degrees or degrees in International Law, Human Rights, or related fields are an advantage.

· Good knowledge of international human rights law and international humanitarian law.

· Demonstrated ability to organize activities, workshops, and academic or public events.

· Proven experience in documentation and report writing.

· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and support coordination tasks.

· Good organizational and time-management skills.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

· Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

· A good command of the English languag is required.

 Desirable Skills and Competencies

· Experience in academic and legal areas.

· Familiarity with activities coordination and  reporting requirements.

·  knowledge of communication tools and content dissemination (social media, newsletters, websites).

· Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

· Commitment to the values of human rights, justice, and academic integrity.
